SCOTUS attempted to differentiate between personal/political and official acts of the President. There has been no subsequent challenge to the current President's presumption of less-bridled authority. So much of what he has been doing has been "retribution" and "revenge" as official functions (Executive Orders), yet driven by his personal/political motives and goals (as campaign pledges). Public Citizen is challenging his general "Emergency" claim that seems to be the basis of his power to override normal standards, practices, laws and the Constitution.
